software methodologies in Service/Cloud-Based Applications

This research area of the ECOS Lab concerns the design and development of computational mechanisms for the smart management of distributed applications for the Future Internet, and Cloud computing i.e. applications that are conceived as the composition of distributed and autonomous services.

In this direction, mechanisms based on software agent automated negotiation are being investigated as a means to select and orchestrate services according to Quality of Service values that can be dynamically adjusted in order to meet end-users global requirements on the non-functional characteristics of the application. These mechanisms are  being applied in different sectors, as:
 •     dynamic composition of Service-Based Applications,
 •     management of task allocations in team of robots,
 •     transportation management in smart cities and maritime domains.
